Americans were rocked last week with the news that the liberals in the Obama administration had decided to try captured terrorists on American soil for the 9/11 attacks–in New York City, no less. The ramifications of this reckless decision defy imagination: terrorists who have never set foot on American soil will now be given special rights which the Constitution’s framers would have never bestowed on enemy soldiers. The outrage seems to be coming from all directions, except for one: Congressman Scott Murphy.

It’s understandable if the news so upset the Congressman that he smashed his fax machine or threw his laptop against the wall, but it’s almost been a week. Seeing as his staff didn’t resign in protest or take ill at the announcement, someone should have been able to muster some kind of expression of the Congressman’s disapproval–unless, that is, he’s okay with this arrangement. Such a soft spot for terrorists isn’t beyond Congressman Murphy: he’s made it clear that he opposes the death penalty for terrorists.
